Describe To Grid
The Describe to Grid component lets you save the results of a DESCRIBE command into a grid variable.
In Snowflake, the DESCRIBE command returns metadata on the columns of a table, external table, or view.
Properties
Name
= string
A human-readable name for the component.
Database
= drop-down
The Snowflake database. The special value, [Environment Default], will use the database defined in the environment. Read Databases, Tables and Views - Overview to learn more.
Schema
= drop-down
The Snowflake schema. The special value, [Environment Default], will use the schema defined in the environment. Read Database, Schema, and Share DDL to learn more.
Object Type
= drop-down
The type of object to run DESCRIBE against.
Object Name
= drop-down
The name of the object.
Grid Variable
= drop-down
Drop-down list of grid variables. Read Grid variables to learn more.
Grid Variable Mapping
= multiple drop-downs
Map each column in the grid variable to a particular "type" of metadata by selecting from the available drop-down menus.
