Tech note - Postgres driver for Amazon Redshift

This article is specific to the following platforms - Redshift.

Overview

From version 1.62 of Matillion ETL, the Matillion ETL Postgres driver can no longer connect to Amazon Redshift.

Only the Matillion ETL Redshift driver will connect to Amazon Redshift.

Therefore, the USE_REDSHIFT_DRIVER parameter (located in the file emerald.properties) will use the Redshift driver regardless of being true or false.

Matillion ETL for Redshift users do not need to take any action as a result of this change.

This change does not affect the PostgreSQL driver in Manage Database Drivers being available on Amazon Redshift.

This change does not affect PostgreSQL being available as a database type in the Database Query component on Matillion ETL for Redshift.
