Bing Search Query authentication guide

Overview

This is a step-by-step guide to acquiring credentials and authorising the Bing Search Query connector for use in Matillion ETL.

Important Information

  • The Bing Search Query connector uses an API token for third-party authentication.
  • While connector properties may differ between Cloud Data Warehouses, the authentication process remains the same.

Acquiring Third-Party Credentials

  1. Navigate to the Microsoft Azure Portal. The Microsoft Azure login screen will appear immediately. Enter valid login credentials to continue. The browser will then redirect to the Microsoft Azure dashboard. Click Cognitive Services on the Azure services menu at the top of the screen.

    Please Note

If Cognitive Services is not available on the Azure services menu, simply click More services, on the right of the menu, for a longer list of options.

  7. The browser will redirect to the Quick start window on the deployment dashboard. From here, copy the API key from the list, as it will be required in Authorising for Use in Matillion ETL.

    Please Note

When copying the API key, some browsers may add a space to the end of the code. Watch out for this as it will cause the credentials to fail.

Authorising for Use in Matillion ETL

  1. If a Bing Search Query connector has not already been dragged onto the job canvas, search "Bing Search" using the Components panel search field, or find the Bing Search Query connector under OrchestrationLoad/UnloadInternet.

    Please Note

An Orchestration Job must be open on the job canvas within Matillion ETL to ensure the Bing Search Query connector is searchable within the Components panel.

  2. Then, click and drag the Bing Search Query connector onto the job canvas.
